Wintering the Edgy Driftless

This was created late in the month of February. As anyone who lives in the Driftless knows, Winter is beautiful and dreadful, alive and dying, warm and cold. So much duality to face–just like in healing. There are days when I look across fields of pristinely fresh snow or a lake mimicking a plate glass window–and I just stare. Magnificence. I am at peace. And then I get home and go all crabby-ass at the cat for puking on the carpet again. I miss the sunlight.

Winter in the North creates an edgy kind of love affair.
